Estean Lenyoun

Estean is a social entrepreneur with a passion for addressing the needs of urban communities and those living in the margins of society, is a retired pastor from  Maranatha Chapel, and also serves as a director on numerous church, hospital and financial institution boards. He serves as President and CEO of Impact Urban America which he co-founded with long-time friend and partner, Rosey Grier;  that organization has received awards from mayors, governors and the United States President. Estean’s joy and expertise are obvious when he speaks about leadership, teamwork, life and job skills and customer service. Recruited from college by IBM, Estean’s successful career continued with 25+ years as president of various corporate and entrepreneurial ventures. Born and raised in San Diego, Estean and his wife of 28 years, Karen, still live in that area. They have two sons in college, Hanson and Xavier.

Brian Lenzkes

Dr. Brian J Lenzkes, MD in Internal Medicine. Internal Medicine Assoc.  Dr. Lenzkes attended medical school at University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and graduated in 1999. Additional Internal Medicine training was conducted at Scripps Mercy Hospital.

Dr. Brian Lenzkes has been named named as one of the “Top Doctors” in the annual San Diego Magazine “Physicians of Exceptional Excellence” survey consistently, year after year.  He currently has a waiting list for additional patients in his medical practice but is available for special consultations through the TriSystem Health Network.  See Dr. Brian Lenzkes our founding physician for the TriSystem Medically Supervised Program in this video.

Dr. Lenzkes has over 20 years of medical experience, and he is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Sally Murdock

Clinical Assistant Professor

Ms. Murdock is currently a clinical instructor at the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science.

Ms. Murdock has a wide range of clinical experience.  As an RN, she worked in both a nursing home and as a psychiatric nurse at Mesa Vista Hospital.  She has extensive experience at the community college level, where she was a counselor and taught vocational nursing and medical assisting.  At San Diego Mesa Community College, she served as director of the medical assisting program. Since 1996, Ms. Murdock has been a nurse practitioner in Student Health Services at San Diego Mesa College.  During this time, she has served several times as acting Director of Student Health Services.  Ms. Murdock also worked part time as a Nurse Practitioner for Minute Clinic, at their CVS Pharmacy walk‐in clinics.

Jeff Kotterman, Director

Jeff Kotterman’s Education: He received his Bachelors of Science in Health and Physical Education from the College of New Jersey (then Trenton State College), in December, 1990.  He holds a current teaching credential in New Jersey. His first personal training certificates were from AFAA and ACE received in 1993 and ’94.   He went on to certify with other organizations.  In 1995, Jeff became Apex Fitness, Inc. certified.  Early in 1997,  Jeff Kotterman helped found the NASN and obtained his first NASN Primary Sports Nutrition License in San Diego.  Since 1997, Jeff went on to get his NASN Master Sports Nutrition License in 1998, NASN Licensing Instructor Certification in 1998, and was appointed a board member in 2001.  He holds a current NAFC Personal Training Certificate with specialty certificates in Weight Training, Fitness Assessment and Lifestyle Consulting.  He taught personal training certification courses for the NAFC from 1997-2003. He is currently mentoring Sports Nutritionists nation wide. Jeff Kotterman’s Professional Memberships: International Society of Sports Nutrition, National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Jeff Kotterman’s Business History: Jeff Kotterman has been in the fitness and nutrition industry for over 20 years.  He has worked with Holiday Spas and 24hr Fitness.  Soon after, his first personal training certificate in 1990, he started Ultrafit personal training in Pensacola, Florida.  Two years later he became a leading Fitness Professional for Apex Fitness, Inc. Three years later, he became CEO of Teknofit, Inc., Toms River New Jersey.  Teknofit successfully expanded into both northern New Jersey and Pennsylvania with satellite nutrition and fitness centers in both states.   In 1995, Jeff was instrumental in the effective merger of Teknofit and Precision Nutrition Institute, Inc. (PNI).  His research and direction of PNI lead to the development of a standardized “metabolic assessment” before clinical nutritional evaluation was standardized for exercisers.   This clinical nutritional assessment is used by sports nutritionist and dietitians today.  PNI’s ventures also include supplement and meal replacement development and sales.  After introducing PNI’s flagship product, “Lifetime Dietary Systems” at the Natural Foods Expo in Los Angeles in 1996, Kotterman experienced “Supplement Rivalry” with the System having irreparable  trademark conflicts in California. Early in 1997,  after Jeff obtained his first NASN Primary Sports Nutrition License,  TriSystem Nutrition was founded. This business is a unique Sports Nutrition practice, providing menus, exercise plans and specific supplement regimes.  Trisystem is still active today, providing  NASN fitness professionals and sports nutritionists with a whole network of support and resources, including web based software, training and business development.
